Dental Implants

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of a biocompatible material.  It is placed in the jawbone and used to anchor a crown, cap, bridge, or denture.  Dental implants look, act and feel like natural teeth.  Implants will not decay and are the strongest and longest-lasting replacement for missing teeth.

What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?

Most dentists agree that dental implants have become the standard of care for replacing missing teeth.  They have a very high success rate (over 95%).  Many advantages of implants include:
Look, feel, and function like natural teeth
Improve chewing ability and speech
Less invasive - prevent altering of adjacent teeth as required for a bridge
Provide stability for loose dentures
Prevent bone loss (atrophy) and preserve existing bone
With proper maintenance, can last a very long time

Depending upon your individual treatment needs and desires, dental implant therapy can be provided:
Same day dental implants (“immediate implant placement”) following tooth extraction
Same day dental implant crown (“immediate temporization”) with temporary crown or cap delivered the same day as tooth removal

What are the Costs for Dental Implants?

Every case is unique, therefore the required treatment, appointments, and cost varies accordingly.  After an initial consultation, Dr. Silverstein will most always provide a detailed treatment plan that will estimate the number of appointments and cost associated with your dental implant surgery.
