Virtual Visits Frequently Asked Questions
What services can be provided using teledentistry?
We are able to offer a variety of services depending upon your individual need.
For patients with pain or sensitivity, we are able to give homecare recommendations, palliative care, electronic prescription of antibiotics, and, in event of a true dental emergency, referral to appropriate care setting.
For patients interested in dental implants, treating receeding gums, or other non-urgent issues, the treatment can potentially be discussed with the doctor and potentially planned. In some cases, this would eliminate the need for an in-person consultation, i.e. your next visit would be the treatment procedure.
How do I know the right care will be provided using teledentistry?
Dr. Silverstein, as a board certified dental specialist, is a dental expert. Obviously having dental x-rays and a clinical evaluation is ideal; however, by discussing your problem, the doctor may be able to address your needs. For other problems, this may be your first step torwards achieving oral health.
Will my dental insurance pay for the consultation?
Due to COVID-19, many insurance carriers are covering teledentistry visits. Unfortunately, our office has no way to know for certain, so we recommend contacting your carrier. We will bill your insurance carrier on your behalf; however, payment is necessary prior to scheduling teledentistry visits.
How much does your service cost?
All teledentistry visit fees are listed in our online “store”.
Why can’t you able to just bill my dental insurance?
All services will be billed to your insurance. Given the current circumstances, we ask you pay for your service prior, much like purchasing a ticket to a concert or airline flight. In event of an insurance contractual adjustment or reimbursement to our office, you would of course be issued a refund promptly.
